Astral Projection Guide — How to Have Your First OBE
April 2025 · 6 min read · Mikhail Karpov, Energy Healer
Astral projection — or out-of-body experience (OBE) — is the conscious separation of awareness from the physical body. It's not dangerous, not rare, and not reserved for advanced practitioners. Most people have had spontaneous OBEs without realising it.
The WBTB Technique (Best for Beginners)
Wake-Back-To-Bed is the most reliable method. Set an alarm for 5–6 hours after sleep. Wake, stay up 30–60 minutes (read about astral projection), then return to sleep with focused intention to project.
1
Relax completely. Lie on your back, eyes closed. Progressively relax each body part from feet to head. Take 10–15 minutes.
2
Enter hypnagogic state. Stay aware as your body falls asleep. You'll notice vibrations, sounds, visual patterns — this is the threshold.
3
Amplify vibrations. When you feel vibrations, mentally increase them — imagine them as a wave moving through your body. Don't physically move.
4
Separate. Visualise rolling out of your body, or floating upward. Use a rope technique — imagine a rope above you and climb it mentally.
5
Stabilise. Once out, rub your astral hands together or look at them. This grounds your astral awareness and prevents snapping back immediately.
Is It Safe?
Yes. The silver cord — the energetic connection between astral body and physical body — ensures you always return. Fear is the main obstacle. If you feel scared during the separation, you'll snap back automatically. The solution is preparation and grounding practice.
